I suck at blogging.

I created this blog over two years ago with the assertion that I would write down everything I learned from being part of a growing startup.

I failed miserably.

Writing is one of my favorite things to do in the world, but I just never got around to my own personal blog. Why? I have several ideas:

1) The premise is impossible- By claiming to blog about my experience in the startup world, I have to write about my thoughts/experiences with my startup. Guess what? Being part of a team of three people means you can’t really air your dirty laundry (not that there is any!) in public. Even abstractly mentioning experiences seems too vague and getting down to the real grit just doesn’t seem right. Argh.

2) I write for too many other blogs- OK so regularly only a handful but guess what? My personal blog always comes last. Perhaps it’s because I never want to look at my computer screen after working. Perhaps it’s because my guilt forces me to consider non-internet activities such as exercise and socializing.

3) Facebook.

4) Design- I can’t seem to figure out the right design for this blog and whenever I visit it, I feel frustrated for not having figured it out by now. Previous designs seemed too much and this one feels too empty. What do I do?

5) Priorities- I try to spend as much time as possible with my family. They always come first. My blog comes last.

Kind of funny that my first blog post in a while is about how I suck at blogging.

No worries! I just subscribed, so this is all fresh to me! Loved your article about joining a startup after college.
